Church of the Brethren Program Director
Barbara Wise Lewczak
Barbara has served as the Program Director at CPL with great care and passion since 2007. She has also served as the pastor of the Stover Memorial Church of the Brethren in Des Moines for the past 8 years. Barbara was ordained after completing the Training in Ministry Program through the Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership in 2011.
Barbara's connections with the Church of the Brethren and Iowa go deep. She was introduced to Camp Pine Lake as a camper during her own childhood. After some time living on the East coast as a young adult, Barbara returned to Iowa to live on her family farm with her husband Ed. Alongside camp and congregation, Barbara has also been called to many district leadership roles, including serving as moderator of the 2015 Distict Conference.
Barbara brings a wealth of experience with children and youth within the church and far beyond. As she continues to coordinate, plan, and lead fantastic camps, Barbara strives to cultivate a culture of sanctuary at Camp Pine Lake that enables each camper to recognize that they are a beautiful child of God.

Matthew Kuecker, Property Manager
Matt has served as the Property Manager since 2012, and shared the role of Camp Administrator with his wife, Betsy, for four years prior. Matt has helped guide CPL through a significant renovation of Friendship Lodge and significant work all over camp after a massive hail storm in 2009. He continues to keep camp looking its best through his own efforts and his leadership of the many volunteers that help him. When Matt isn't fixing something or finding amazing deals on Craigslist for camp, he is getting into delightful mayhem with his two young sons.
